Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have made a killing with the Dynasty Warriors games, which lifts their themes from the mythological tales surrounding the "Three Kingdoms" period. Development studio Team Ninja is now taking a stab at that war-filled era with a "Soulslike" game similar to the studio's Nioh series. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty presents you as a nameless warrior who must battle with rebellious warriors, plus ravenous monsters and demons. With your mix of melee & ranged weaponry, elemental magic, careful deflection counter moves, and some much-needed assistance from the Three Kingdoms' most recognizable heroes & heroines, you'll (hopefully) have everything you need to survive.

The sub-genre of "roguelike" games has taken over many of your favorite indie-developed experiences lately. Dead Cells is one of those smash-hit games that fit that exact criteria. The Prisoner, the game's main protagonist, has a new adventure to embark on via this fun expansion crossover. Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania takes place within the demon-filled expanse of Dracula's castle, which lets you tear through all those enemy hordes alongside famed Castlevania saviors Richter Belmont and Alucard. Retro series tunes, boss battles with Death & Dracula himself, and secrets galore make up the best parts of this upcoming Dead Cells DLC.

The Outer Worlds combined the time period of the 1900s, interplanetary travel, plenty of hilarity, and first-person action-RPG combat to a great degree. And now years later after its original 2019 launch, a current-gen remaster of Obsidian Entertainment's Fallout: New Vegas-esque experience stands out as one of the more surprising March 2023 video game releases. Cleaner visuals, improved technical performance, new character animations, and crispier-looking environments are on the bill here. Plus an increased level cap means players can proceed much further in their journey with even more power applied to their customized space traveler. If you already own the last-gen version of this game and its accompanying DLC, you can upgrade to The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition at a reduced price within the same console family or PC storefront you got the original edition of the game from.

A lot of incredible horror games have been getting the remaster and remake treatment in recent years. Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Dead Space have become a part of that worthwhile trend. And now, Koei Tecmo's very own Fatal Frame IP is joining that scary bunch. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, which first launched on the Nintendo Wii in Japan back in 2008, is now coming to current- and last-gen consoles. What can you expect from that upgraded re-release? Cleaner visuals, of course! As for the gameplay, fans should expect to enjoy the same spooky "magical camera-powered clashes with vengeful ghosts" action from past series entries. As Ruka Minazuki, you'll need to find a way to help her escape her haunted ordeal and the creepy location called "Rougetsu Island."

WWE 2K22 got WWE's series of simulation games back on track. And now WWE 2K23 is making a concerted effort to keep everything that worked in its predecessor and go even harder with new features. The biggest attraction of this new squared circle experience is WarGames, which lets two teams of five bludgeon each other within the confines of two side-by-side steel cages. And if Showcase Mode always gives you your bang for your buck, then you're gonna enjoy this year's version - you'll take control of John Cena's pivotal foes and attempt to recreate the most memorable moments of his greatest matches. MyFACTION, MyGM, MyRISE, and the always-expanding Creation Suite are also a part of WWE 2K23's massive content offering.

Supermassive Games loves to create the sorts of games that are meant to tap into your inner fears and scare you half to death. When the first PlayStation VR headset dropped, the studio put out a pretty cool VR Until Dawn spinoff called Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. Now, the studio is readying a PS VR2 companion that dives into the world of The Dark Pictures Anthology. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR will take players on a terrifying roller coaster ride through locations lifted right from the areas featured in the first four games in the Dark Pictures series. This horror shooter should be a top pick on your own personal list of the top March 2023 video game releases if you wanna experience true fear in VR.

If you managed to unlock Bayonetta 3's secret chapter, you pretty much played a demo for this widely different spinoff game. Cereza, the younger version of Bayonetta fans were introduced to in the very first game, is at the forefront of this top-down adventure. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon follow her and her pet demon Cheshire during their journey to retrieve the power needed to save her mother. Using both analog sticks to control them comes into play during plenty of navigation, combat, and puzzle-solving. The more cartoony aesthetic of this Bayonetta game and prequel themes mark a decidedly different take on the series' usual bout of wild action.

For the longest time now, this indie-developed action-adventure game from the studio Awaceb has piqued everyone's curiosity. Tchia is that game and its wondrous art style has exposed much of its charm to everyone that has laid eyes on it. Now it's finally set for launch this month and it looks like it'll be one of the very best indie titles dropping this year. In this game, you'll take on the role of Tchia and peruse through her fictional archipelago home that's inspired by the real-world French territory of New Caledonia. After her father is abducted and her homeland is taken captive by an evil being named Meavora, Tchia hops into action to right both of those wrongs. The journey you'll be a part of here includes plenty of puzzles to solve and the magical ability to soul-jump into assorted animals to utilize varied ways of exploring.

Reisalin "Ryza" Stout has emerged in the Atelier JRPG series as its most famous alchemist. Now she's set to give us all a tearjerker of a farewell journey in Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key. Players will get to be a part of a "final summer adventure" that brings together Ryza's best buddies and a whole host of new party members which totals 11 party members. Something called the "Code of the Universe" becomes a central theme after Ryza and her friends discover a mysterious massive gate, which means you'll need to figure out what exactly that is. And with the new "Keys" system, you'll have to make good use of its powers to assist you in exploration, synthesis, and combat.

Leon S. Kennedy matured in front of our very eyes in Resident Evil 2 and its subsequent remake. The original Resident Evil 4 follows his stint as an official U.S. agent who steps into a twisted Spanish village in search of the president's daughter, Ashley Graham. That genre-defining survival horror third-person shooter is now getting remade with the same amazing visual upgrade and gameplay changes the last two RE remakes have received. Now what many claim to be one of the greatest games ever made is set to be even greater. Just like in the original, you'll come face to face with the mutated terrors brought on by the cult-like "Los Illuminados." And with a host of welcome changes, such as new weapons, side quests, and more melee options, Resident Evil 4's highly anticipated remake looks to be a must-play on our collection of the biggest March 2023 video game releases.

Crime Boss: Rockay City is looking to produce the same thrills derived from watching a bunch of criminals make epic getaways with tons of stolen money and other pricy goodies in video game form. If you love the Payday games, then you'll like what you're about to read about here - you'll get caught up in the dark underbelly of organized crime during missions that entail a whole lot of stealing. On the solo front, you'll enjoy a life of crime as Baker during his bid to rule over Rockay City with his burgeoning criminal empire. Co-op missions are also in play here and let you pull off some multiplayer heists for extra bragging rights (and cash!). The 90s vibes are strong here as you'll come into contact with the likes of Danny Glover, Chuck Norris, and even Vanilla Ice.

It's time for another installment of MLB: The Show's usual array of home runs and the rest of that exciting baseball action the series is known for. MLB: The Show 23 is set to hit the plate with your usual delivery of cleaner visuals, more options to tap into on the sides of offense & defense, and 5,000 new player animations that make everything look even more realistic on the field. The most noteworthy addition to this year's MLB simulator is the brand-new mode "Storylines: A New Game Experience," which features a playable history lesson about the storied Negro Leagues. Eight of the league's most legendary players, which include Jackie Robinson, Buck O'Neil, Satchel Page, and Rube Foster, will be included as you play through seasons of the acclaimed baseball institution.

April Fools' Day jokes in the world of gaming can be overly corny at times, but there are rare occurrences where they end up being more clever than one might expect. Sega gets the nod this year for presenting an equally humorous and playable joke of its own in the form of a visual novel, murder mystery game. And the crazy part is this game's central storyline focuses on the supposed death of...SONIC THE HEDGEHOG? Yep, you read that right! On Amy Rose's birthday, you'll get to interact with your favorite characters from her and Sonic's world on the "Mirage Express." Intriguing interrogations come into play here as you attempt to get to the bottom of The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog.
