Okay, so yes I’m still on my retro kick case if you were wondering. Of course that means I’m not participating in any drops this weekend, but I’m still putting in some of my favorite new releases just in case y’all were looking for a new pair. I’m a little surprised there aren’t more signature shoes from NBA players seeing as though the playoffs start next week, but I suppose there have been quite a few releases in the past couple weeks. Anywhoo, I’m looking forward to these drops this weekend, so let’s get into it.

5 Sneakers To Watch Out For This Weekend
Some pretty dope stuff to look forward to this week
1. Nike SB “TV Signal”
Release Date: 5/15
Those of you in the U.K. are super lucky. Super lucky. I would totally break my ‘retro kicks only’ month for these, and I can't even begin to contain my jealousy. For those of you in the Gen Z category, the shoes model a television with a broken/disruptive signal. This was primarily common with older televisions (pre-streaming days), but I suppose it could still be seen with newer models too. Maybe they should make a shoe called the ‘VCR.’ No? Okay.
2. Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow 2.0”
Release Date: 5/15
We’re going to call these the ‘Digital Remaster.’ The previous iterations of the ‘Shadows’ have been virtually unobtainable (at least for me), but alas we (well you guys) will have another shot at glory. The Smokey grey upper combined with slick black overlays gives the shoe a real clean appearance. Plus they’re high tops, which means automatic bonus points.
3. Pharrell X Adidas NMD Hu Aqua Blue
Release Date: 5/14
By now you guys should know that I love a bold attention grabbing color, and this version of the NMD’s are sick. It’s not surprising that Pharrell has such creative sneakers, because at his core he is a producer. In general, producers are very creative people, and I always get a music vibe with his shoes.
Side note: I would love to see Missy Elliot get another line be it with Adidas or another brand. Missy is a huge sneakerhead that has always had a pulse on streetwear and urban style. Make it happen!
4. Air Jordan 5 “Low Wings”
Release Date: 5/14
You guys know how I feel about putting multiple Jordan’s on the list, but I couldn’t exclude this drop. For those reading this article later in the day, these will probably be sold out (I would be legitimately shocked if they weren’t). It’s not that often that we get a Jordan low. We get mids and highs frequently, but there is definitely a bigger time gap with lows. These are designed to look like a graduation cap and gown, which is perfect timing if you ask me. These would also make a pretty good grad present too. Just sayin.
5. Jaden Smith X New Balance Vision “Racer Pink”
Release Date: 5/14
I have neglected New Balance after previously saying I would include more releases, and that is totally on me. So we’ll start with these Jaden Smiths. Again I like bold colorways, but I can also see how some may choose to pass as fuchsia pink can be a hard color to coordinate with (the super chunky outsole could be a turnoff to some too). At this point you know Jaden (and Willow) are super artsy, so don’t expect ‘regular’ from them when it comes to their style.
