Five Sneakers to Watch Out for This Week
From Air Jordans to Adidas, we have you covered
1. ‘Air Jordan 35 Black Red’
Release Date: 1/08
Nike is bringing the heat early with the ‘Air Jordan 35 Black Red’ colorway scheduled to drop today. The "Breds" have been among the most popular J’s for a while, and this shoe has the potential to be one of the biggest in the collection so far. The ‘Jordan 35s’ seem like a new and improved version of the Air Max 200s, and the shoe features a Chicago Bulls design in the upper. Other standout features include suede overlays in the back, the classic Jumpman tongues, and a white midsole. Any Air Jordan fan will need to have these in their collection at some point.
2. ‘Kylian Mbappe X Nike Lebron 18’
Release Date: 1/07
Lebron is entering the new year in a partnership with Paris Saint-German F.C. soccer star Kylian Mbappe. This release is a part of the duo's ‘The Chosen 2’ collaboration. The ‘18s’ are a colorful design with a black Knitpost upper complementing the purple and orange accents and blue midsole. James and Mbappe both have their logos designed into the shoe, and the project once again highlights the greatness of what they have been able to accomplish within their respective sports.
3. ‘Adidas Superstar Gaming Pack Shoes’
Release Date: 1/07
Adidas is starting the new year on the quiet side; there aren't any major releases coming for the next couple of weeks. This week they released the latest installment of their ‘Superstar’ collection. Stylistically, these shoes are no different than any of the others, but the cloud white colorway and video-game textures give the sneaker an eye-catching pop. Labeled as the ‘Gaming Pack’ shoes, this colorway was designed in a unique 8-bit video-game detail. Adidas prides this particular shoe on being a ‘bona fide original’ complete with the versatility to wear them with anything in your closet. The white lace can even be switched out to give them a different look if you wish, and the tie-dye stripes finish the color scheme.
4. ‘Jordan Why Not Zer0.4 Upbringing’
Release Date: 1/06
I know we said we weren’t going Air Jordan heavy, but many brands aren’t doing major releases until next week. That said, Russell Westbrook unveiled the ‘Jordan Why Not Zer0.4’ this week in a highly anticipated release that had been hinted at for a while. The silhouette was inspired by Westbrook's childhood and is a performance sneaker with a rainbow blended colorway. The shoe also has a thick Zoom Air cushioning, a baby blue sole, and orange laces to complete the graffiti look. The ‘Zer0.4s’ are already sold out on the Nike website, but they can be found on the secondary market for the time being.
5. ‘Reebok Classic Leather Legacy Shoes’
Release Date: 1/05
Reebok is back at again with the ‘Classic Leather Legacy Shoes.’ Inspired by 1980s running shoes, the sneaker features a sculpted geometric sneaker with muted chromatic colors and a suede upper. The midsole is lightweight, with added cushioning for extra comfort and support. The classic leather shoes are simple, but they stand out. The durability of Reeboks is pretty good, too, so with proper care, you can hold on to these for a long time.
