Compound founder Set Free is linking up with ethical outerwear company Save The Duck for a new 100% cruelty-free and vegan collection that drops today. Just in time for the holiday season, Houston Rockets point guard Kevin Porter Jr. and hip-hop legend Jadakiss are featured in the line’s promotional campaign, and focuses on the 7 Elements theme, which refers to the the four natural elements defined by the Greeks and Romans -- fire, water, earth, and air, combined with ancient civilization elements of wood, metal, and ether.

The 7 Elements collection celebrates the divinity and fundamentals of life, while also incorporating Free’s influence which spans multiple industries including sports, art, fashion and music.
Save The Duck’s reputation as the first Italian brand to be certified as a best performer in social and sustainable issues made them the perfect partner for this collaboration, and we spoke with Free about the new collection.

ONE37pm: The new collection is dope! What was the inspiration for this winter release?
Free: I was actually in Mexico through the course of this pandemic, and I was stuck with the elements of water, air, etc., and I wasn’t around the hustle and bustle of life for a while. The 7 Elements comes from the Mayans, and I linked up with Save The Duck on this collaboration because ultimately we all just want to make the world a better place.
ONE37pm: You tapped Kevin Porter Jr and Jadakiss for this collection. How was it working with them?
Free: You know Jadakiss is always working out and he’s had such a health transformation. He’s also somebody who is also looking to make the world a better place and have an impact on people. With Kevin—I’m really connected to the basketball world, and I was looking for a younger generational player with a unique look. We were thinking along the lines of NBA tunnel fashion with this collection.

ONE37pm: Can you expand a little more upon the 7 elements theme in this collection?
Free: Just the same as I was saying a little earlier! The number 7 is overlooked. There’s seven continents which is something that a lot of people forget, and there are many significant touch points in regards to the number 7.
ONE37pm: What’s on the horizon for the new year?
Free: We’re going to launch another Save The Duck collection next year. We’re also going to have a New Era dropping around the new year as well. You’ll have to wait and see for the rest because we can’t tell all the goods!

This limited winterwear collection will be available on December 7, at select US retailers and online via Compound (thecmpdshop.com) and Save The Duck (savetheduckusa.com), just in time for holiday gifting.
