Quetzalcoatl. One of the most important Aztec deities in Mesopotamia religion. The creator God who brought wind and rains the "quetzal-feathered serpent," was a prominent part of Central Mexican history from approximately the time of Teotihuacán to the collapse of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán in 1521.
Centuries later, Quetzalcoatl remains a cultural influence. This past Friday, adidas and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) revealed the home jersey to be worn by the Mexican national team at the 2022 World Cup, taking place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.
