The Champions league is a yearly club football competition amongst the best teams in Europe. The best leagues in Europe such as England's Premier League, Spains La Liga, Italys Serie A, Germanys Bundesliga, and Frances Ligue One, all get the four top teams from the previous season sent to the Champions league.

The competition starts in late June with a preliminary group stage that sees teams play the other teams in their group twice. The two teams with the most points after the group stage games advance to the round of sixteen.

Teams will then play their opponents twice, once at home and once away, with the total score of both games being added up to calculate the winner. The actual Champions League final is a single elimination game played at a neutral territory.

Spanish club Real Madrid has undoubtedly been the most dominant team in Champions League history with fourteen titles. Milan comes in second with seven titles followed by Bayern Munichs six titles. Atlético Madrid have the most final appearances without a victory having reached three championship games but losing them all.

The 2023 Champions League final will be hosted at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. The 2023 final originally was set to be played at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, England but due to covid-19, the schedule of stadiums to host the final has been pushed back.

The Atatürk Olympic Stadium is the largest-capacity stadium in all of Turkey. The venue was opened in 2002 in an effort to win Turkey an Olympic bid, but ultimately the 2008 Olympics went to Beijing, China. The stadium cost roughly $140 million and has a capacity of 75,000. After two postponements and a world pandemic, Turkey will finally get to host a Champions League final, and it surely will be one to remember.

The most highly anticipated matchup and what very well could give us the winner of this years Champions League is the semi-final draw between Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The history of these two clubs in the Champions league couldn't be more opposite. City has reached one Champions League final in their clubs history, and lost. Real Madrid on the other hand is the winningest club in Champions League history. It is a new era of football for Manchester City with the likes of Pep Guardiola and world class striker Erling Haaland. One things for sure, this matchup is going to be one of the best in Champions League history.

The other side of the Champions league bracket was stacked with Italian powerhouses. Three of the four teams on this side of the bracket who reached the quarterfinals are Italian clubs. We get one of the most tried-and-true matchups in club football with a Milan derby.

Both these teams play at the same stadium, so both legs of this semifinal will be played at San Siro. Milan won the Scudetto last year after a wild season that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic lead the club while suffering an ACL injury. Regardless of who is playing, this game will surely deliver as it is one of footballs oldest rivalries.
