2023 F1 Race Calendar: Gearing up for Race Day

While F1 and the sport of racing is ever changing, multiple tracks have seen significant changes in the lead up to the 2023 season. Here are some venues that have revamped their tracks for this years F1 race calendar.

• Jeddah Corniche Circuit

Jeddah Corniche Circuit will be home to the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The first major change made to this track is the addition of rumble lines. The rumble lines will 'shake' drivers cars, helping slow them down. These rumble lines will be added to turns 3, 14, 19, 20, and 21. Steel kerbs will be replaced by bevelled ones on turns 4, 8, 10, 11, 17, and 23.

• Marina Bay Circuit

The Marina Bay Circuit will host the Singapore Grand Prix come September of this season, and the track is set to make some major changes. The circuit length of the track will be reduced by .135 kilometers, making the track 4.928 kilometers total. This will increase the total laps of this race from 61 to 63. Turns 16 to 19 have also been removed, opening up an additional straight opportunity that could aid drivers in overtaking positions.

• Chinese Grand Prix

Although this isn't specifically a major track change, it will be a major venue change. The Chinese Grand Prix was slated to be the fourth race this season following the Australian Grand Prix. Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, F1 has decided to move the event. There is no confirmation where or when the race will be rescheduled, but be on the lookout for another venue to be added to the race calendar.

With the jam-packed 24-race schedule that the F1 has slated for this season, it can be overwhelming to distinguish which races are must see television. Here are some of the races we think you should keep an eye on.

• Bahrain Grand Prix: March 5th - Sakhir

There's no better place to start watching F1 this season than the first race in Sakhir. The F1 schedule will kickoff with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 5th. This should give us the initial standings amongst racers and set the tone for what to expect throughout the year.

• Belgium Grand Prix: July 30th - Spa

July 30th the F1 drivers will head to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgium Grand Prix. What's significant about this race is that defending back-to-back F1 World Champion Max Verstappen will get the chance to race in his home country.

• Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: November 26th - Yas Marina

Just two season ago Max Verstappen bested Lewis Hamilton on the last race day, giving him an eight point lead and securing the season championship. There is no guarantee that this seasons standings will be tight, but if they are there is no better race than the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This race could potentially be the deciding factor for the 2023 F1 World Championship. Regardless, this will be a great race to closeout the 2023 F1 season and one that you will not want to miss.
