Seven years after his unceremonious exit from WWE, CM Punk finally resurfaced in a wrestling ring.
But it wasn’t with Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment empire - instead, it took place within Tony Khan’s upstart wrestling company. All Elite Wrestling played host to Punk’s return to the sport that resulted in his immense mainstream fame. As he spoke to the loyal fans that filled out the entirety of the United Center in Chicago, Punk made it clear that he’s going to be with AEW for the long haul. He targeted the face-painted superstar known as Darby Allin as his first AEW opponent, which led to both men agreeing to deliver that highly anticipated dream match at All Out on Sunday, September 5. Once Punk checks that first AEW matchup off of his comeback list, there’s a vast array of other contracted (and even non-contracted!) AEW talent that he could produce in-ring magic with. Side note - a promo segment between Punk and MJF would also be mind-blowingly awesome!
As someone that is heavily invested in Punk’s return and the rest of the AEW roster, I managed to come up with a bunch of dream matches that could be perfect for Chicago’s favorite son.
