SUPES' and Brad's Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Review
The trailer begins after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, when Mysterio shockingly reveals to the world that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. This completely ruins Peter Parker’s life and now he has to deal with the ramifications of the world knowing his secret identity, his enemies included...
When Peter is detained for the murder of Quentin Beck AKA Mysterio, he’s questioned by officials and DODC (Department of Damage Control) agents. Among the group is someone who appears to resemble Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil, who has been heavily rumored to appear in the film as Peter Parker’s lawyer. Peter’s life continues to get more and more difficult, leaving him searching for a solution which leads him to the Sanctum Sanctorum to ask Doctor Strange for help. Peter inquires if Strange can perform a spell to make it as if Mysterio never revealed his identity, removing that memory from the world. This follows similar story beats from the “One More Day” Spider-Man comic, where Peter makes a deal with Mephisto for the world to forget his secret identity, but it ends up costing him his marriage with Mary Jane.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is clearly going in a slightly different direction as Peter messes up the spell because he doesn’t want MJ, Ned and Aunt May to forget. Peter's involvement appears to send the Multiverse into madness as we see some of the most iconic Spider-Man villains of all-time make their return to the big screen. We see a glimpse of Jamie Foxx’s Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, who is slightly different from his TASM2 character, as his lightning has changed from blue to the comic accurate yellow. A shadowy figure attempts to sneak up and attack Peter, with some fans theorizing this could be Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man, Scorpion or even Tom Hardy’s Venom. Peter is also seen fighting not only Electro, but potentially facing-off against Sandman from Spider-Man 3 as well. As if things couldn’t get even better, one of Green Goblin’s iconic Pumpkin Bombs flies into frame during an epic action sequence, and it features Willem Dafoe’s iconic laugh in the background, teasing his return. Last but certainly not least, the trailer ends with Doc Ock’s mechanical tentacles smashing onto the same bridge; as the smoke clears, rumors of Alfred Molina’s return are confirmed as he appears on screen and says “Hello Peter”.
The 3 minute teaser trailer also features the new “Black and Gold” suit, which was revealed in toy leaks in the last few months, a potential fight between Spider-Man and Doctor Strange and a slew of other epic moments that have left fans wanting more. It took a while for us to get our first look at Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it was certainly worth the wait! As this is just a “teaser” trailer, fans should get at least one more trailer before the film releases in theaters December 17th.
