Doha has been a hub for art and culture over the years, but with the attention on the World Cup, the area is in the spotlight.

After recently visiting the Qatari capital—which houses over 2.3 million—it was evident that the region has significantly emphasized the value of art and history.

We had the opportunity to visit some of the country's amazing museums, including the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.
But even if your passions lie outside of sport, Qatar has a lot to offer regarding culture.

Qatar Creates is an ongoing cultural movement that allows residents and visitors to experience activities promoting diversity in the country. These displays can be observed throughout Doha and beyond its surrounding areas at galleries and other exhibits.

The National Museum features some extraordinary architecture when walking up to the property. It was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel.

The desert rose motif is common in the region and can be felt throughout the grounds. Exhibits range from the nation's wildlife to technological development in Qatar.

The museum feels very interactive and offers various films and displays to portray the ongoing story as you walk through the exhibits.

Museum of Islamic Art

The Museum of Islamic Art will reopen in October, and it will surely be a place to check out with its gorgeous views from the interior and exterior.

The redesigned museum will feature significant artifacts from throughout the region, including the Blue Qur’an.

Initially opened in 2008, the museum takes inspiration from Islamic art from the seventh to 20th centuries.

The facility was designed by renowned Chinese American architect I. M. Pei, who truly captures the beauty of Doha and the city’s waterfront landscape.

3-2-1 is the world's second-largest sports museum and houses some incredible pieces from history.

The venue is attached to the Khalifa International Stadium, which will host several games at the World Cup this fall.

We're talking about major sports artifacts from significant stars like Lionel Messi, Tom Brady, Usain Bolt, and many others. Additionally, the history of sports is discussed, and there are cool pieces like an original football from when the sport was created in China.

There are also many interactive games for fans to compete in on the museum's bottom floor. That includes fitness tests and a penalty kick shootout with a robotic keeper.

This building is truly unique and gets its name quite literally from previously serving as a firehouse in Doha.

Until 2012, Fire Station had over 30 years of serving the community before becoming an acclaimed gallery and residency program.

'Garage Gallery' allows visitors to view works from those completing the program worldwide.
