This year marks 20 years of Coachella performances, fashion and memories. The famed music festival that takes place in Indio, California, has been recruiting major headliners since day one.

The festival has come a long way, and it continues to evolve every year as different genres ebb and flow in and out of popularity. In 1999, tickets cost only $50 per day, and headliners included Rage Against the Machine, Tool and Moby. Press images of the 1999 show are rare, but Getty Images began sending photographers to the second Coachella in 2001. Headliners included Jane’s Addiction, Weezer and Fatboy Slim.

Here's a look of Coachella from 2001 to 2005.
