Chief Keef is credited with being one of the rappers who helped usher in a new wave that is incredibly prominent in today’s Hip-Hop scene. Many of the younger rappers today, Lil Pump among them, credit him as being an influence of theirs and despite the fact that he’s hit a peak commercially, his near-decade of success has helped him achieve his net worth of $6 million.

What Is Chief Keef’s Net Worth?
Influencing the Chicago Drill Wave
The Chicago rapper had a rapid rise to prominence when some of his music videos blew up in the early 2010s, namely ‘I Don’t Like’ and ‘Love Sosa’. He shot them in his house because he was on house arrest and while that may have taken away from another artist’s visuals, it only added to his mystique early on. These videos influenced an entire wave of Chicago Drill music videos in the following years. The latter of those tracks currently has 128 million views on YouTube. Even though the former has been deleted and re-uploaded, it still has 55 million views across two channels. Sosa has easily earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from his visual work.
This success caught the eyes and ears of many record labels, who got into a bidding war for the rapper. Keef eventually settled on signing with Interscope Records. The record deal was worth $6 million for three albums and gave the rapper a $440k advance. As well as this, Chief Keef was earning a steady income of anywhere from $40k-85k for a show. We know this because there was an instance where the rapper missed a show in Washington, D.C. due to being in jail and was sued for $75k. Although he was later dropped from the label for failing to meet some of the terms of his contract, he did use the opportunity to start his own imprint called Glory Boyz Entertainment, or GBE for short. Chief Keef owned 40% of it along with his manager who owned the same amount, with the other 20% being spread out amongst family members. Prominent artists like Lil Reese, the late Fredo Santana and Tadoe (who you might know from his feature on ‘Faneto’) were members until it disbanded to form as Glo Gang.
Collabs and Endorsements
Working with the likes of Kanye West, 50 Cent, and other huge names, his success in the music industry is no surprise. But Chief Keef also has a hand in many ventures outside of music, one of which is cannabis. In 2014, Keef opened The Glo Gang Weed Shop, a marijuana dispensary, in Compton. They sell a strain called Chief Keef OG which is their most popular offering. Controversially, he denied that he had anything to do with the shop when two people were murdered outside of it, saying that he promoted it as a favor for a fan who opened it.
The rapper also had his own line of Beats Headphones back when they were the craze. His pair was blue and red, like the Chicago flag, with his name fashioned on the side and was an extremely limited release, likely pocketing the rapper a sizeable amount of cash.
Hang w/, a live-streaming app on smartphones, released and boasted Chief Keef as one of their endorsers and users. The creators of the app, MEDL Mobile, raised $2 million for the app which at one point was valued at $20 million. Keef was one of the most prominent users of the app, along with others like 50 Cent and Terrell Owens. The rapper used it to preview new music in snippets, thus attracting the attention of his loyal fans and certainly helping the brand more than any social media post would.
Although he came into the game when he was young, Chief Keef has been defying the odds ever since we’ve known who he was. The rapper is heralded as one of the leaders of the new school of Rap and he has the net worth to back it up.
