How Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour Announcement Caused Chaos on TikTok

Welcome to the Hunger Games where in order to gain tickets to Beyoncé's Renaissance tour, you’ll need to engage in a battle. Some of you have unfortunately already lost that battle, having been put on the waitlist in the hopes of a miracle happening (or Bey adding another date in your city), while others (like myself) are awaiting to find out our fates. This has certainly been an interesting couple of weeks for Bey who now holds the all-time record for the most Grammys ever, starting with a magical performance in Dubai (the clips of which went viral on social media).

With Renaissance having been released this past July, rumblings of a tour started coming about around October when tickets were auctioned off at the Wearable Arts Gala. So we knew a tour was happening, we just didn’t exactly know when… until last week. And as you can imagine, chaos ensued not just on Beyoncé's internet, but on TikTok as well.

Many of you have been taking to TikTok to document your ticket purchasing experiences (both good and bad), so we figured we take a look at some of the best and funniest viral moments on the app. But first, let’s do a quick recap of everything we know so far about the Renaissance Tour.

What we do know, however, is that the tour is currently scheduled to start on May 10th, 2023 in Stockholm with a series of European dates through the end of June. After a short break, the North American leg of the tour will start on July 8th in Toronto, and will go through the September, concluding on the 27th in New Orleans (again this date might change if more shows get added down the line). Needless to say, the demand for this concert has been nothing short of insanity, with the first UK pre-sale causing such a demand that saw both the 02 Priority Website and Ticketmaster crash due to the overwhelming demand. Hotel prices in nearby areas have also soared.
