The collectible cards economy has exploded in recent months. From Basketball to Pokemon, cards of a variety of different brands & categories have seen their value increase on ebay. This recent development has left many card-watchers wondering “What will be the next hot brand in cards?”. Look no further than the classic anime known as Yu-Gi-Oh!
Airing in early-2000s, Yu-Gi-Oh! followed the story of Yugi Mutou, who battled his opponents in the fictional card game of Duel Monsters. This fictional card game formed the basis for the real life Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The card game is often a 1-on-1 contest in which each opponent is allotted a set amount of “Life Points” and use a variety of monster, magic and trap cards in an effort to drain their opponent's Life Points down to 0.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Is one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time and is still popular to this day. In 2011, the Guinness Book of World Records declared it the top selling trading card game in the world, having sold over 25 billion cards worldwide.
