October 5th's NF3 Recap: Justin Aversano at Christie's, MekaVerse and Usain Bolt

We've got a couple of things to talk about regarding Twin Flames' photographer Justin Aversano today. First of all, tomorrow Justin will be making history with Christie's auction house with the first ever non-fungible token (NFT) lot to be offered in a Photographs auction by the house. The auction, which begins tomorrow at 11am ET (registration is open now) features one of the photos from Justin's now legendary collection: Twin Flames #83: Bahareh & Farzaneh. The NFT will be accompanied by 100 chromogenic prints. Read more about the auction here.

Additionally, today Justin and Andrew Wang, one of the most talented writers in the world of NFTs (and a frequent ONE37pm contributor) launched their own collaboration.

In addition to launching the collab under the TIMEPiece Community umbrella, the duo hosted a Twitter space discussing the role of writer as artist and creator. By minting the TIME article as an NFT itself, Wang is maintaining more financial license over his writing. It's an interesting conversation that will surely continue to develop in weeks to come.

When we discuss the MekaVerse last week, the raffle was supposed to begin last weekend. Now the team has confirmed that the raffle will begin tomorrow at 11pm CET, or 5pm ET. At the time of this writing, we don't have a ton of new info about the collection, but will hopefully hear a bit more about the raffle format some time tonight or early tomorrow. Here's what we know about the raffle so far, from the community's discord:

"We're going to have raffles!

You will arrive on a beautifully designed landing page on launch day to register for a ticket. Once you've obtained your tickets, you'll be required to wait in a random queue where you may be chosen in order to mint a Meka. The probability of getting chosen will be determined by the amount of individuals that register for a ticket on launch day.

With this method, there will be no Gas War! We will provide you with further information on the drop before the launch and in the days ahead.

You can register for a maximum amount of two Mekas per individual. If you want to mint one, it is also an option.

We will create an animated explainer video that will teach you exactly what you need to do to successfully mint a Meka! Keep an eye out for that!"

DraftKings has been conducting drops with some of the biggest names in sports over the past few weeks, and pretty much every drop they've done so far has sold out. Today was no different, as they launched their collaboration with the fastest man of all time, Usain Bolt.

The Premier collection is launching throughout the day today, and the Signature Collection will go live on Thursday. All of the DraftKings offerings have been successful so far, and demonstrate a great, lower cost of entry option for sports fans interested in getting into NFTs—if you can get the drops in time.

It's a pretty cool collection, combining the dizzying heights of high fashion with digital art; you can view a lot of the pieces in the above Times article.

It could be the much-awaited Supdrive, or something else entirely. Regardless, you should keep your eyes on his Twitter, as everything @dhof touches seems to turn to gold.
