Tauren Strickland is an artist hailing from North Carolina who is known to most by Strick. He began posting music back in 2017 and since then has worked with some of the most prominent artists in the world, including Kid Cudi, Young Thug, Lil Baby, and Swae Lee, to name a few. Now signed to Young Thug's YSL Records, Strick has begun putting his name on the map with a vigorous writing and delivery style.

Born on January 1, 1986, Strick began making a significant name in the music industry in 2016, when he started producing with TM88. He would co-write for artists that same year, including Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Travis Scott. These co-writing gigs would eventually develop Strick's writing style that continues to follow and help him adapt to this day.
He is now coming off his latest album Strick Land, which was released in November 2021. The eighteen-track project contains collaborations with NAV, Young Thug, Swae Lee, A$AP Rocky, Gunna, and more. Since the project's release, Strick has received positive feedback for his impressive appearances and how he maneuvers around on each track. So tune in to the album below!

The album's second track, "Don't Wanna Leave," featuring NAV, is energetic and enthusiastic. On it, he and NAV rap about their luxurious lifestyle and women over an 808-heavy trap beat. Following this song, Young Thug hops on his first of two tracks on this album with "In Love Wit a Fly Girl." The anthem contains elements reminiscent of a traditional Atlanta-trap song with its dim melody, clever production style, and euphonic melody. Tune in below!

The track "Play Stupid" with Swae Lee, up next on the tracklist, has received a lot of praise on social media and music publications since its release. It opens with Swae delivering his unforgettable comforting and rounded falsetto voice, with Swae singing about his person-of-interest and how he can't get her out of his mind. Strick then hops on the piece, rapping about his success and wealth. Again, this song is a must-listen on the album.

In "For Sale" with A$AP Rocky, the beat features a psychedelic melody with eccentric percussion and bassline. In the lyrics, they rap about making money and their ambition, with Strick dropping clever rhymes, "Too many karats in both of the ears, can't even hear if you ain't talkin' dinero. My ****** kings, we all imperial." The song pops for its writing and its production.  Gunna then hops on "Galaxy Ceiling," a euphoric beat chopped up by Los Angeles-based producer Caliber. Strick instantly grabs attention with his vocal style, fusing his rapping with a singing annunciation on prolonged words. This style is unique to Strick and is one of the many elements that make him stand out as an up-and-comer. Gunna then hops on the track to deliver his trademark flow and lyrics. Be sure to tune in below!

The project also includes Slime Language 2 with "Moon Man" with Young Thug and Kid Cudi and "Wokstar" with Skepta. These collaborations include an unparalleled flow from Strick, which only shows the world what he brings to the table. These experimental flows prove to work in his favor, as the reception of these tracks is terrific.

While the project has several collaborations with the largest artists in the world, there are plenty of songs that allow Strick to shine with his talents. On "Ocean's Eleven," Strick goes off on a hard-hitting beat with his husky and hoarse voice, which makes it protrude all the more. Additionally, "Thou Wow" is the most impressive rapping track on the project for its intelligent writing and rhyming schemes.

If you are unfamiliar with the YSL signee, you need to check him out. By leveraging his lyrics with different delivery styles, Strick stands out as an artist who shouldn't be tested. Strick's versatile style from track to track makes this album release a special moment for him. So, be sure to tune in!
