Tony Hawk Is Back With a Remaster of 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2'

Guess who’s back, back again? That’s right everyone, Tony Hawk is back with the digitally remixed and remastered Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 giving fans a serious blast from the past.

Many of the “O.G. Gamers” remember the original versions that came out in 1999 and 2000, and this new edition expands upon those classics. One of the cool things about this remaster is that this edition will feature the tricks that were introduced in later games. Players will have to use those tricks (along with the originals) to unlock new levels in order to make progress.

In addition to that, players will also be able to create their own players and skatepark. Adding to the nostalgia, the game’s soundtrack will feature the majority of the tracks used in the original versions (like ‘Superman’ by Goldfinger), plus 37 new songs to go along with it.

Another surprising feature for Tony Hawk fans is the return of all the skateboarders from the first two games, however, they won’t be young guns anymore. The remaster will feature the skaters at their current ages, proving that age really is nothing but a number.

The promotional campaign for this release included a pre-order bonus that granted players a demo to the Pro Skater warehouse, as well as a Chipotle Tony Hawk burrito (which also gave buyers access to the demo). The demos were received well and had everybody hyped for the release of the remaster.

As far as purchasing goes, there will be a standard edition and a deluxe edition. The standard edition is priced at $40, while the deluxe edition runs for $50. The deluxe will have some extra features, so it may be worth it to go ahead and spend the extra ten dollars.

There will also be a special Collectors’ edition that will include both games, as well as a Birdhouse Skateboard deck. For those that don’t know, Birdhouse is a skateboard brand created by Tony Hawk back in 1992, so buyers will be getting that personalized “Hawk” touch as opposed to just a regular skateboarding brand.
